Customs Seize Smuggled Cigarettes in Multan
The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement in Multan recovered smuggled cigarettes valued at Rs 21.134 million during targeted anti-smuggling operations carried out in the first half of November 2025. The raids resulted in the seizure of 10,701 outer packs and approximately 2.14 million sticks of assorted-brand foreign-origin cigarettes, reflecting significant illicit inflows intercepted by local teams.
The operation underscores the continued vigilance of the Federal Board of Revenue and Pakistan Customs in protecting national revenue and public health. Officials said the actions were part of focused enforcement measures to disrupt smuggling networks and limit the availability of unregulated tobacco products in provincial markets.
The FBR praised the professionalism of Pakistan Customs personnel involved in the Multan operations and reiterated its commitment to strict enforcement of customs laws. The recovered stock will be processed under legal procedures as authorities maintain heightened surveillance to prevent similar smuggling attempts.
