Strengthening Algeria Pakistan trade ties
In Rawalpindi the Ambassador of Algeria, H.E. Brahim Romani, met with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for an interactive session with local businesses. He was welcomed by RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas and members of the chamber’s Executive Committee.
Ambassador Romani urged Pakistani businessmen to capitalise on Algeria’s liberal economic policies and explore new partnerships, underlining his country’s keen interest in deeper economic cooperation. The visit reinforced Algeria Pakistan trade prospects after the bilateral trade agreement signed in February 2023, with both nations recording steady growth in commercial exchanges.
President Usman Shaukat outlined the Chamber’s current initiatives and highlighted areas of mutual opportunity, saying there is vast potential to expand trade in energy, pharmaceuticals and textiles. The discussion focused on practical steps for businesses to tap Algerian markets and strengthen Algeria Pakistan trade links.
Business leaders at the RCCI welcomed the ambassador’s call and signalled readiness to pursue targeted engagement with Algeria, aiming to convert the dialogue into concrete trade activity in the coming months.
