Strengthening Private Education in Islamabad

On 13 January 2026, a productive meeting took place between Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Chairman of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (ICT-PEIRA), and Dr. Rukhsana Khan, owner of Bright Beginning Education System and an elected member of the Board of Governors at FBISE Islamabad. Dr. Rukhsana Khan extended congratulations to Dr. Mallah on assuming charge and commended his longstanding dedication to improving private education.

The discussion centred on the practical challenges that private schools in Islamabad face and the need for closer coordination between school leaders and regulators. Participants emphasised enhancing regulatory support, ensuring compliance, and building capacity to raise educational standards across private institutions, with a focus on solutions that are both transparent and sustainable.

Dr. Mallah reiterated PEIRA’s commitment to proactively address the concerns of private institutions and to promote a supportive, quality-driven environment for learning. He highlighted the authority’s readiness to engage collaboratively with school owners and board members to streamline processes and improve oversight.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing a shared resolve to work together on practical initiatives that strengthen private education in the federal capital and elevate outcomes for students in Islamabad.
