Strengthening Pakistan Immunization with Gavi Partnership

A meeting in Geneva between Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal and Gavi CEO Dr Sania Nishtar focused on coordinating a joint strategy ahead of upcoming Gavi board meetings. The leaders exchanged views on Pakistan immunization priorities and current collaboration to ensure continued support for the country’s vaccination programmes.

The discussion covered detailed aspects of immunization planning and ongoing cooperation, with both sides emphasising the need to strengthen routine services and reach underserved communities. Mustafa Kamal expressed appreciation for the strong partnership with Gavi and underlined that improving health services remains a top priority for the government.

Dr Sania Nishtar acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to expand vaccine coverage and welcomed the renewed joint approach. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to targeted, effective measures to boost immunization rates and protect children across Pakistan.
