Customs Quetta Cracks Down on Smuggling Worth Rs317m
Customs Quetta, acting on credible intelligence and with operational support from Quetta Police, carried out a series of coordinated raids that resulted in the recovery of smuggled goods valued at Rs317 million.
Inspectors recovered 508 cartons totaling 25,400 sticks of contraband cigarettes of various brands, with an estimated worth of Rs200 million. Separate operations led to the seizure of large quantities of smuggled mobile phones and 13 Non-Custom-Paid (NCP) vehicles, together valued at approximately Rs117 million.
All confiscated items have been placed in official custody following thorough examination conducted under prescribed Standard Operating Procedures. Customs Quetta officials confirmed that legal proceedings are being initiated under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969, as the Federal Board of Revenue reiterates its commitment to curbing smuggling and protecting the national economy.
