UC 79 Nominations Drive Boosts Local Service Pledge

Prominent social and political figures from Union Council 79 G-8 have formally submitted nomination papers for the upcoming local government elections, signaling a coordinated effort to prioritize service delivery in the neighbourhood.

Muhammad Arsalan Masood Khan filed his papers as a candidate for chairman of the council and was joined by General Councillor Safdar Ghori, Advocate Dilshir, Malik Abdul Sattar, Sardar Husnain, Haseeb Gujjar, Tufail Khan, Ghufran, Niamat Masih and Dawood Masih among others who also completed their nominations.

Speaking after submitting his nomination, the candidate for chairman said he is entering the contest out of a commitment to public service rather than a pursuit of power. He pledged to rely on the people’s mandate to advance development in UC 79, ensure the provision of basic facilities and work persistently to resolve the daily problems affecting residents.

The candidates emphasized that organising transparent, free and impartial elections is the constitutional responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan and urged strict implementation so that genuine representatives can emerge. They called for a fair process that allows voters in UC 79 to choose leaders who will deliver results.

Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the group’s focus on practical work and community improvement will bring tangible change to the area. The filing event has reinforced local expectations that UC 79 nominations will translate into accountable leadership and visible development on the ground.
