Celebrating Hazrat Ali inspires community reflection
A conference marking the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali and the Giyarhveen Sharif ceremony took place at Bari Imam House in Noor Pur Shahan, Islamabad. The event was organised by Raja Sarfraz Akram, Khadim of the shrines of Hazrat Bari Imam Sarkar and Baba Kalu Sarkar, drawing local devotees and community leaders to reflect on the legacy of Hazrat Ali.
Raja Sarfraz Akram described Hazrat Ali as the gateway to knowledge and wisdom and a model of bravery, justice, piety and sincerity. He urged attendees to study and apply the lessons from Hazrat Ali’s life, saying those teachings still guide how to live with honour and purpose.
Raja Imtiaz Janjua highlighted that a person’s true worth is shown by their character, calling Hazrat Ali a shining example of justice who maintained a simple life even during his caliphate. His remarks underscored the importance of humility and moral conduct in public and private life.
Muhammad Waseem Abbas noted that the door of Hazrat Ali remained open to the oppressed and that he consistently stood for truth regardless of circumstance. Speakers emphasised that standing with the vulnerable and defending justice are central to Hazrat Ali’s message.
Abdul Razaq Jami stressed that observing the day should go beyond ceremony to encourage practical adoption of Hazrat Ali’s teachings: speaking the truth, upholding justice, pursuing knowledge, respecting elders and showing kindness to the young. He said embracing these values can help build a society marked by peace, brotherhood and fairness.
Other speakers, including Obaidullah Naqshbandi, joined the call for reflection and action. The gathering in Islamabad reinforced the local relevance of Hazrat Ali’s ethics and urged the community to keep his principles alive in daily life for a more just and harmonious society.
