Launching Pak China song in Pashto on May 20

China Window in Peshawar has produced a Pashto Pak China song to mark the 75th anniversary of friendship between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China. The project brings together leading cultural figures from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and aims to highlight the long-standing ties between the two countries through music and heritage visuals.

The lyrics, penned by Professor Dr. Abaseen Yousafzai, reflect poetic depth as a girl likens a Pakistani youth to a prince while the young man replies by calling her a fairy from China, both voices conveying the warmth and mutual respect at the heart of the Pak China song. The director of the song is Amjad Aziz Malik, a prominent journalist and Administrator of China Window, who led the creative direction for the video and launch plans.

Musical composition is by Gohar Jan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the vocals are delivered by internationally acclaimed singers Dr. Irfan Khalil and Yamsa Noor, whose performances add emotional richness to the Pak China song. The visual narrative was filmed at the historic Takht-i-Bahi, an emblematic site of the ancient Gandhara civilization, with additional scenes shot inside a more than 142-year-old traditional house in Peshawar to evoke continuity and cultural bonds spanning decades.

The formal launch of the Pak China song is scheduled for May 20 in Islamabad, where distinguished guests from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and representatives of the Chinese Embassy are expected to attend. The release is intended as a cultural tribute to seven and a half decades of diplomatic friendship and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and China.
