Advancing Innovation at IEEE Faisalabad Congress

Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan (HI, SI), Chairperson of the Punjab Higher Education Commission, participated as Guest of Honour and chaired the Vice Chancellors’ Panel Discussion at the IEEE Faisalabad Young Professionals, Students, and Women in Engineering Congress 2025. His presence underscored PHEC’s engagement with academic leaders, industry partners and the next generation of engineers across the region.

The session brought together vice chancellors, faculty and emerging innovators to explore ways to advance technology, strengthen research capacity and foster inclusion within higher education. Panelists examined practical steps to support early-career researchers and to expand opportunities for female engineers, reflecting the congress focus on Young Professionals, Students and Women in Engineering.

Speaking at IEEE Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Khan highlighted the need for closer collaboration between universities and professional bodies to translate research into real-world solutions and to build pipelines for skilled talent. Emphasis was placed on mentorship, institutional support and policies that enable equitable participation in STEM fields across Pakistan.

The congress provided a platform for dialogue on academic leadership and innovation, reinforcing PHEC’s commitment to nurturing research-driven universities and inclusive engineering programs.
