Driving Sustainable Textile Collaborations

The first matchmaking meeting of the Sustainable Textile Platform (STP) in Karachi brought together nine leading Swedish and Nordic greentech solution providers with local suppliers that serve global brands such as IKEA and H&M. The B2B sessions created direct avenues for dialogue on practical partnerships and technology transfer aimed at modernising Pakistan’s textile value chain.

The discussions centred on scalable solutions to advance the green transition, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy, energy efficiency and water treatment. Participants explored how Swedish innovation can be adapted for local conditions to reduce costs, conserve scarce water resources and improve overall production efficiency, keeping the needs of Pakistani manufacturers and exporters in focus.

Organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Islamabad in collaboration with Business Sweden, the Sustainable Textile initiative aims to open new channels for collaboration and innovation that strengthen Pakistani competitiveness. Industry players and solution providers thanked organisers and peers for advancing a practical agenda that could drive a more sustainable and competitive textile sector in Pakistan.
