First Woman from Tribal District Mohmand becomes part of Balochistan Police

Islamabad: The first woman hailing from the tribal district of Mohmand has become a part of the Balochistan Police. Irum Mohmand has been appointed as an Inspector in the Balochistan Police Force. Irum Mohmand is the daughter of the martyred SSP Sajid Khan Mohmand, who was martyred during a suicide attack carried out by terrorists in the Chamman area of Balochistan in July 2017. Sajid Mohmand had previously held significant positions in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, including DPO Kark, DPO Shangla, SSP Investigation, and AIG Logistics.

Speaking to the media on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day, Irum Mohmand expressed pride in being the courageous daughter of a brave father. She mentioned that she had always admired her father since childhood. Her father never hesitated to fulfill his duty on the difficult frontlines. He had sacrificed his life for the defense of the homeland.

Irum Mohmand stated that she will continue her father’s mission. Her father was deeply patriotic, and she too will never step back from serving the country’s defense. She emphasized that women can effectively contribute to community policing. Irum Mohmand has completed her Bachelor’s degree from Peshawar University and is the first woman from her family and tribal district of Mohmand to join the Balochistan Police Force.
