Driving Growth with Ring Road Initiative

Provincial Minister of Industry, Commerce & Investment Mr. Shafey Hussain visited the Rawalpindi business community for discussions focused on local industrial priorities. Senior representatives including FPCCI Vice President Tariq Jadoon, RCSTSI Senior Vice President Dost Ali Jan, Vice President Asif Javed and executive members Naseer Ahmad Qureshi, Bashir Mughal and Ishfaqul Hassan joined the meeting to deliberate on the future of commerce and small industry in the region.

The conversation centred on the Ring Road Economic Zone and the tangible steps needed to translate planning into investment and job creation. Attendees explored how the Ring Road can improve supply chains, reduce logistics costs for small traders and attract new industrial activity to Rawalpindi, with an emphasis on practical measures that benefit local businesses.

Chamber leaders and the provincial minister discussed persistent challenges facing industry, from infrastructure needs to regulatory hurdles, and emphasised coordinated action between the ministry, federations and local associations. Ring Road proposals were framed as a catalyst for wider commercial revival, with stakeholders agreeing to pursue targeted consultations and follow up on technical and policy requirements.

Participants expressed optimism that the meeting will lead to concrete steps that support small traders and manufacturers, strengthen investment prospects and contribute to sustainable economic growth for Rawalpindi and Pakistan. Continued collaboration between the ministry, FPCCI and chamber representatives aims to ensure the Ring Road initiative delivers measurable benefits for the local economy.
